Family Caregiver Alliance Issues Alert About Senate Healthcare Bill Impact

In case you missed it, the Family Caregiver Alliance, a leading advocacy group for family caregivers, has issued an Action Alert regarding the new Senate "healthcare" bill, inappropriately titled, Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017. From the FCA Alert:

Depending on the state, caregivers caring for a relative who is spending down their assets, (or on a Medicaid program), may face wait lists or fewer hours of service across providers when they finally become eligible for Medicaid. No state is able to fill in the revenue lost from the proposed cuts in Medicaid funding. States have few options: pay providers less; change eligibility criteria; or provide less service to individuals. Who is expected to take up the slack? Families.

The Congressional Budget Office has indicated that 22 million people would lose their health insurance by 2026 with 15 million slated to lose their insurance within two years. How is this acceptable?
