I’m old enough to remember what a "broken record" sounds like. For those young’uns out there, back in the days of the record player, if the record was scratched, the part of the song where the scratch occurs would repeat, over and over…and over and over until you pulled the needle off the record. I’m going to be just like that for the foreseeable future because it’s important–and I’m not apologizing.

But wait. Don’t I already own my data? I log into my health record app and it’s all there. My doctor uses that data during my visits. Really? When was the last time you saw your doctor? Weeks? Months? YEARS? How long did your last doctor visit last? How much time did they spend before or during your visit looking at your medical record? I guarantee the time is measured in SECONDS. Now imagine you’re managing a chronic condition for yourself or a loved one (many of us don’t need to “imagine” this). How are treatment decisions made? I’m going to let that sit for a bit….
