What Will You Do Differently in 2021? 30-Day Mental Health Challenge
from Care3 CEO, David S. Williams III
We're now in 2021. 2020 was tough for so many people—and 2021 has started out with the shocking events at the US Capitol.
The real question is what are you going to do differently this year? We have to avoid a repeat of 2020. We have to move forward personally and as a society.
I know what I'm going to do differently.
I'm going to connect with extended family more often, if COVID hasn't taught us anything, it's that we shouldn't take our family for granted.
I'm going to ask for help without feeling shame.
Third, I'm going to pay attention to my mental health. That's important.
I'm going to get dressed. Every. Single. Day.
And lastly, I'm going to use more metaphors, although I haven't thought any metaphors to use right now.
Some of the things I will continue from 2020:
Stay home. I have stayed home. That's what's necessary.
I will wear a mask when I am out, even in my car. It's that important.
I will continue to work out to reduce stress. That's been the thing that's kept me going.
And lastly, I'm going to continue to document family health incidents because we don't have the ability to go see doctors anymore. They have to know what's happening. And when we do have our tele-health sessions or other check-ins, they need data. They need insight into what's happening to us so they can continue to deliver the best care and the best treatment options for us and our families. And so I will continue to do that documentation.
